Hi Everyone,
If you visit our website often, you might be thinking what is keeping Pam so very busy – it’s the end of the summer and we have not read a new post from her! Well, HGT has been busy and its owner, Pam, has been beyond busy or whatever that could be. There are a couple of quotes that I want to share with all my HGT families that might put things in perspective that Life is not always easy, but like Robert Frost writes, it goes on… “In three words I can sum up everything I’ve learned about life: It Goes On!”
Happiness, keeps you sweet,
Trials, Keep you strong,
Sorrows, Keep you Human
Failures, Keep you Humble,
Success, Keeps you Glowing,
But ONLY Close Friends, Keep you Going!!!
Check back soon for our next litter – thinking it will be a chocolate lab litter, but I still have my sights on a magnificent golden standing at stud and waiting for HGT’s Meooya! Best, Pam
Blog noting: Confirmations on conception HGT Labradors and HGT Goldens –

Before the breedings and after the breedings …
Labrador retriever pups:
Well we achieved the task of breeding Hgt ty-ty (please see her ultrasound pics below) we recently blogged about pulling out all the stops in achieving conception for ty and … we succeeded!!! Ty is pregnant. We see puppy water sacks on the ultrasound which is a breeders dream shot! Now we will have an X-ray done in a few weeks to see how many pups to expect. Ty’s due date is 6/22 and once the pups join us they will start their journey with us for the next 8-9 weeks.
Golden retriever pups:
Sage has thrown us beautiful golden grands in the past. Unfortunately, for us, sage did not conceive this time …. our plans are as follows for breeding our Goldens… Sage’s daughter, Meooya will turn 2 in October… I plan on doing her OFAs during her birth month. If she comes back with the results like that of her grandmother and her mother, meooya will be bred. We already have two really beautiful – healthy – jolly happy sires at Foxrun Goldens who are standing at stud waiting for our Meooya!

Puppy process:
Our Hgt pups are homegrown – they are whelped and raised here in our home, they adapt to all the noises in our house, they are socialized with all our dogs and they run around freely enabling them to explore, achieve and become confident jolly happy souls! Each pup is trained and understands some basic Pam commands before they venture off. Each pup will be de-wormed, vet checked, vaccinated 1st series and their dew claws will be removed. We will post pics and test and discuss temperaments and training as the weeks progress. You will find all this info on the website under Labrador litters, and watch our blog section for updates.
SkyFarms, Roger Wilco – Sired this litter – a beautiful boy with so many notables at only 3 years old.
(See our other blog on.. It’s Ty’s Turn – to view all this young boy has to offer!
If you are interested in a pup from this litter, I need to hear back from you. We have many families interested in this lab litter so I will be contacting you too … if for any reason you want to wait for our next litter, I truly need to know so the next family in the line-up can enjoy a Hgt pup.
Genetics show that that this will be a dark chocolate litter. The magnificent pairing is Sky Farms Roger Wilco and Homegrowntrilogy’ Tisezsu Tomadachi (Ty-Ty).
My plans are to study the pups progress and if I feel we have puppies that demonstrate show-potential, I will have first refusal on two pups from this litter. Then I will decide on a co-ownership with a family that has a desire to present the Hgt pup in AKC Junior Showmanships and has a junior handler (any young-one under the age of 15 who loves the breed, loves to help the pup achieve the highest of heights!) This co-ownership agreement will be different from our limited registration contract. I will be available to discuss with and meet with the families after the pups are 6 weeks of age …or beginning of August.
I plan to leave the books open to those families who want a beautiful English dark chocolate❣️🐾
Call Anytime 203/834-7647 or send us your completed questionnaire that you will find under the CONTACT heading of our website …we are extremely busy here at Hgt, but please do not hesitate to leave us messages, we will return all calls with a weeks time🐾💕
For all our golden grand lovers – this blog is for you.
Today, 4/18/17, our HGT Kiss N Tail, Sage Advice experienced her first side-by-side natural breeding to this extraordinary sire, TY –
BISS, U-CH FoxRun Out of the Ballpark JH,RN, CGC
Ty has all the genetic makeup that we look for in the betterment of our line and the betterment of the breed. Ty has the overall balance, structure, stance/stack and that cheerful gait that we love but it was that ‘must-have’ that feeling that takes you to different heights, what I call that eye-catching, head-turning temperament. Ty certainly had me at hello and kept my attention. In my estimation, Ty has already lived up to his name and Hit it right… Out of the Ballpark. We want to thank our friends at FoxRun Goldens for partnering with us for this breeding.
We will follow Sage and by the end of May we will have an ultrasound to determine if we have a viable pregnancy. In the past Sage has given us beautiful golden grands, so we are hopeful for not only beautiful and healthy, but possibly she + Ty will throw us a show puppy!
If you have sent us a completed questionnaire, I am sure we have it. To follow up with us is always a good idea just so we know that you are still eager for a HGT pup. If you have already found a beautiful golden, please let us know this as well so the next family on our list can hear some exciting news and start planning for their new furry friend.
Fingers-Crossed!
(Ty’s semen under the scope – mobile, nicely formed, good volume output)

January 18th, 2008 –

Ty finished his UKC championship at 8 months old by taking a Group 1. His first and only NAKC show resulted in his taking Best of Breed, Group 1 and Best Puppy in Show. In May 2009, Ty went Best in Sweepstakes at the YGRC Specialty under breeder judge Julie McKinnon. Ty currently has 14 points toward his AKC Championship, he ran his Jr Hunter with his owner, Kathi Schapp and finished that in 2012 and he has a Rally Novice title.

Well we are at the home-stretch – and we are so excited about this impending litter. Below you will see the pregnancy x-ray that was taken just hours ago of HGT’s Koko Kawaii Hito’s belly. Koko was bred to GCH CH Zinfndel’s Markers Mark – Koko is packed with puppies! Can you count how many will be joining us in a week’s time? Koko is an amazing creature! We took her out of a relaxing early retirement just to bring us a beautiful and delightful surprise! In the past Koko has thrown us many beautiful dark chocolates, but in this litter based on the coat color genetics of this pairing, I think there will be predominately black lab pups…only time will tell :@) :@) :@)

If you have already completed a HGT questionnaire and if I sent you a response to that questionnaire, then you are already on our lab list for a puppy. We still cannot guarantee puppies as we do not know the gender, coat color or the exact number of pups that will be joining us – many things still need to happen. We need to whelp, vet check, DNA check, remove dew-claws and then we start the puppy process and start calling everyone in the order that you were placed on our list.
We are also planning our next anticipated breedings. Koko’s daughters, Ty and Eps, will be the next two labradors that we are considering in our breeding program. (Go to Labradors/Adults heading of our website to read about our girls, their genetic clearances, pedigree etc.) We will soon be working out the details with the co-owner/breeder of a beautiful chocolate sire that is standing at stud in the Netherlands. We have waited awhile for him to journey home to MA but it seems like he is extending his stay abroad. This will be another process for us in order to breed to this magnificent creature – we are considering a Trans Cervical Insemination – as the semen will need to travel many MANY miles to reach HGT’s Ty-Ty from the Netherlands. We have two chocolate sires in mind for Eps. Both are clear in all the tests that the breeder has put them through but Eps still needs to clear her OFAs and if she does as well as her Mom and sister, she too will be bred.
October is the month things will be very hectic here and if our girls conceive, pups will be joining us in December. You will need to let us know if you want to be placed on these lists. Fingers Crossed for a healthy, beautiful litter! We will blog often once the pups join us so please follow our blogs.
I wanted to include one of my favorite poems that I find very fitting here … everyone and everything has a purpose!
A Bag of Tools by R L Sharpe
Isn’t it strange that princes and kings,
And clowns that caper in sawdust rings,
And common people like you and me
Are builders for eternity?
Each is given a bag of tools,
A shapeless mass, A book of rules;
And each must make —
A stumbling block or a stepping stone.
Enjoy, Pam
We are so very proud of our dogs – each one makes us proud on a daily basis.
We wanted HGT’s Taisetsu Tomadachi to attend the LRCP 41st Potomac Specialty show in MD but we thought it best for Ty to sit this show out and to stay home just in case she conceived. Ty will be given her chance next year to turn heads at the Potamac. Our concern about letting her go was that of being around many – many labradors and with the chance of bringing home many ribbons and honorable mentions there is also the chance of coming back with certain viruses that one dog can pass on to another and affect the puppies. So we decided the best thing to do is not attend this show for now.
Koko has also been busy sporting a new shape – Yes, HGT’s Koko Kawaii Hito conceived! We are very excited for Koko – she came out of retirement for one more beautiful litter! We are expecting a possible tri-color litter from this pairing of HGT’s Koko Kawaii Hito and GCH CH Zinfndel’s Markers Mark, Marcus! Yes, one would think that the dominant colors are Dark Chocolate and Black – but the pairing carries yellow in their respective lines so the chance is there for a couple of yellow labs to surface :@). Pups due to join us around the second week of May!

Above are pictures of Koko’s pups from previous litters….
We will blog often so all our families who have been waiting patiently for our litters – will see the breeding process and soon it will become a reality!
We are very excited and grateful here at HGT!
