LET IT BE…GOLDEN!
Written by Pam on April 30, 2015
We wanted this blog to be all about our golden grands. At this age, we start to introduce the puppies to hats – yes, the smaller the better. This thing on their head – is placed gently and some of the pups don’t even know it is there until it falls off. We do this so that in a couple of weeks, some if not all of them will allow me to place something on their heads and for them to leave it and continue to balance it. Goldens are notorious for being in the game and if the master/owner is enjoying the game, they will definitely do whatever they have to please the owner. See Sage and Mean – both of them learned this as puppies and now they seem to want most things – even a treat – on their heads.
It is so great to enjoy the morning with the pups while trying to instill some wanted behaviors that will surface in the next couple of weeks. As you can see some of the pups wore the biker hat, some the high hat, some took a liking to the rain style hat and some the beanie with the dreadlocks. The winner I think was the dreds as Sage and Mean wanted to show their whimsical poses with this particular hat! Enjoy, Pam
Another one of my treasured poems – this one is short and sweet – but very true for me…
Always Finish – poet unknown
If a task is once begun
Never leave it till it’s done.
Be the labor great or small,
Do it well or not at all.
