Enjoy + Remembrance on Memorial Day

Look what we did before noon today! The pups hit another HGT major milestone at their 8 week mark and coupled with the fact it is Memorial Day, we decided to do something special with the pups, in remembrance of this special day! We wanted the pups to see what the ‘ out of doors’ is all about.

First we had the mudroom door open so the pups can explore the outside at their own pace. Look how they smell the air to ensure it is safe to venture out. Some took the leap of faith and wanted to get close to me without any hesitation and some of the other pups, were more cautious. The first to venture down the first step was Gold Boy or Fritz, followed by Orange Girl or Millie! Then we set up the puppy pool on the back deck – where there really was no hesitation to get their paws, head and all the rest really wet!

We have waited until now to let the pups outside the house for a couple of reasons. First we needed to make sure they have had their first set of vaccinations and secondly we need to make sure they are big enough – yes big enough – we have hawks here that have wing spans of about 8 – 9 feet and could carry a pup away. So we always take the cautious route with our puppies and today, we had a blast! When we all came inside all were very tired from a fun filled morning.
