Adult Labrador Retrievers
Koko/Koia
Koko is an exceptional Labrador. She was named Kawaii Hito for the love she gets and gives – Kawaii Hito means Loved One in Japanese. She has that constant desire to always please – no matter what. She would rather go for a walk on/or off lead vs stay home and play with her offspring but she is always in the game! Her field training has kept her in fine physical shape. She has a very stable temperament and loves people of all shapes and sizes. Koko is a very caring dam for her litters. Even when Koko is whelping her puppies, before and after the delivery of a pup, she looks at me and wags her tail to show that ‘willingness to please’ anytime/anywhere.AKC Registered –Yearly OFA’s Eyes, Normal; OFA’s Hips, Good; OFA’s Elbows, Normal; Genetic Testing: EIC, Clear; DNA prcd/PRA, Normal/Clear, CNM, Centronuclear Myopathy DNA Result Clear (2 copies of the normal allele), Coat Color DNA Result/DDC Veterinary: bbEeDD or Brown Phenotype, Carries Yellow, does not carry Dilution, DNA 115385 DDC Veterinary. Ty-Ty
Ty-Ty is our HomeGrown pup who was born on 6/9/13. Ty carries the registered name of Taisetsu Tomadachi for being that very important friend to our daughter. She always looks for and actually knows were our daughter is at all times. Still young, but very attentive and smart to our commands. She is the only lab we have ever had that will wait in a sit command while her kibble is being poured into her bowl. Labs love to eat! To see one eat is simply, amazing. Ty, like her mom – Koko, will perform any command spot-on. She will be considered in our breeding program after she turns 2 and passes her genetic tests & health clearances. In the meantime, she has some maturing to do as well as some agility and obedience training. Ty has successfully completed both Foundation 1 + Foundation 2 – Hat’s off to Ty who soon is on the fast …path to ‘show’ she has already attended her first AKC Match Show and did very well. She will be attending her 1st handling class this summer. We know that Ty-Ty will be the ‘new’ HGT’s girl with all the ‘right stuff’ competing in conformation + obedience/rally REAL soon!AKC Registered – Yearly OFA’s Eyes, Normal + Free of observable inherited eye disease (last test: 3/12/17); Genetic Testing: EIC; DNA prcd/PRA, Normal/Clear, CNM, Centronuclear Myopathy DNA Result Clear (2 copies of the normal allele), Coat Color DNA Results/DDC Veterinary: bbEeDD or Brown Phenotype, Carries Yellow, does not carry Dilution. KISSAKEE
Kissakee is our beautiful HomeGrown pup. She has a laid out ‘path’ to follow – literally. The path that Koko has paved for her. She needs to go through puppy socialization classes, obedience training and agility – Her name in Japanese means miracle and the crest is for her small white blaze that she wears proudly on her chest. The small blaze to us is a symbol of her ‘spot-on’ talents that we already see as a very young pup – a long list of pending accomplishments – but as a young pup we already know she will excel by “leaps & bounds”. Kissakee has that great demeanor that one strives to achieve when breeding this magical breed coupled with the love and devotion only to be given by a Labrador.AKC Registered – Yearly OFA’s Eyes, Normal; Genetic Testing: EIC; DNA prcd/PRA, Normal/Clear, CNM, Centronuclear Myopathy DNA Results: Clear (2 copies of the normal allele), Coat Color DNA Results/DDC Veterinary: bbEEDD or Brown Phenotype, does not carry Yellow, does not carry Dilution. EPOKKU
A kiss for a Miss with bliss!
Eps is a very big hit with the puppies – they all gravitate to her! Eps always is the first to find one of her favorite toys hidden deep in 1+ foot of snow :@) Above is one of our newest members of HomeGrown Trilogy’s Labradors – Epokku Keiken Beowulf. In Japanese the phrase Epokku Keiken translates to an epic experience which we blended with Beowulf. Beowulf, as we know, is a renowned old English epic poem. Borrowing a quote from this wonderful poem, “Behavior that’s admired is the path to power among people (and animals) everywhere.” (20-25). Epokku, like that of Beowulf, will travel great distances to prove her strength – sometimes at impossible odds, but she will succeed with HGT’s backing her every step ! And …so with all this powerful – legendary – historical marks behind our little Epokku, we just know that she too will plant that loving mark on all of our hearts, have that lifelong passion to please us and provide us with hope that someday she will achieve Best in Show. Epokku, wet in my hands at birth, proved to me to have the qualities that I look for – she was not the biggest or the smallest or even the best looking, but she had the astounding calming attributes that I long for in breeding my labs – she is, already as a young pup, my epic experience! Epokku will be starting her first socialization class this winter – watch out classmates – here … comes ….Epokku …@ 12 weeks Epokku has already shown us that she follows our commands, but surprisingly she commands the other dogs in our pack to do some remarkable actions – Eps owns her space! AKC Registered – Yearly OFA’s Eyes, Normal; + Free of observable inherited eye disease (last test: 3/12/17); Genetic Testing: EIC; DNA prcd/PRA, Normal/Clear, CNM, Centronuclear Myopathy Clear (2 copies of the normal allele), Coat Color DNA Results/DDC Veterinary: bbEeDD or Brown Phenotype, Carries Yellow, does not carry Dilution. OFA’s Hips + Elbows OFA results are in!!! Eps’ OFAs Hips were Good and OFA’s Elbows were Normal … the word a breeder loves to hear! |
OH-SO!
At HGT we try and find a name that suits our puppies and normally we research Japanese names. This wonderful chocolate was a delight at first glance – a must have – a beautiful beginning. He constantly shows us that life with him is definitely going to be different but Oh!!! So!!! enjoyable – A friend of mine introduced us to a french quote…Joie de vivre – meaning the Enjoyment of life – so we could look no further. HGT’s Joie de vivre, Oh So Entertaining, Oh So Amazing, Oh So Show Worthy, … Oh So Beautiful… This head-turning male pup joined us on 6/22/17. He was the second pup to be whelped from the HGT Ty-Ty and Sky Farms, Roger Wilco litter. The truly amazing thing about this pup is that I was not concentrating on looks, or on show qualities while whelping the puppies… my concentration was just to be present in case Ty needed my attention. I helped Ty whelp all his siblings as they joined us but it was the red rick-rack male that had me coming back for more. Things tend to happen for a reason, but for me to be fixated on a male pup when I normally only hold back my females, was mind-boggling. Because this French saying kept coming up in several conversations and because I so love the sound of it not to mention the meaning, I thought it would not only be appropriate for this jolly-happy soul but to now bring in French names for my labradors. So this too will be the beginning of something new here at HGT as well as a new beginning for this enjoyment of life, full of life, boy whose call name will be OH_SO! What I want for OH-SO is to start with the regular obedience classes that we teach here and then immediately get him into AKC Show Handling classes. This pup has all the right stuff that I want to see in my labradors but he has that something extra, that extra is his jollity – that jolly happy gait, that jolly happy temperament but most importantly that jolly happy willingness to surpass all others and grab your attention and not allow anyone to let go. OH-SO will be my 2017 cornerstone labrador and he will start a new path here at HGT. A new path of happiness – to be freed from the restrictions that life hands out sometimes – free from controls, free to enjoy his life here at HGT! My hope is to have reams of show notables on him, like his dad does! If he comes close to the look I have already imagined… he will be my next cornerstone lab standing at stud here at HGT. MEO
Our newest (honestly) the newest puppy that has come, joined us and has conquered those Pam commands so (honestly) she needs to stay and be an amazing addition to our family… If you haven’t guessed the French term Voir Dire means to be honest and tell the truth.. and I could not be any more honest when I say this remarkable pup will be our cornerstone labrador – our Segway into the AKC shows. We welcome MEO as her call name is an acronym that stands for – Marvelous, Entertaining, Outstanding. MEO will start her trick trials once she turns six months and she will excel in agility trials and then jump into the AKC best of breed rings. It is our hope that MEO and her brother OHSO will bring us many deserved ribbons, awards and those sought after compliments from the AKC judges and our breeder friends! LAAL – Laaly – Yumiya
LAAL is the most beautiful acronym for …Look’n At A Legend! We are so very excited here at HGT. Our LAAL is part of our pack. We have waited a long time and eagerly welcome our very own lab show sire into our home and into our lives. LAAL has already shown us his mellow boy side but also that “I got it Pam” side and”See I can do it” side as seen in the above picture of “Up” – it’s all about trust and patience – this command works when I want to see that paw raised while walking or just standing…differently than most ‘say hi’ positions of the paw. A couple of his newest commands are ‘ready’ and ‘wait’. The ‘ready’ is for when I want his attention on me and only me and the ‘wait’ is when I want him in a sit/still. Laal is an amazing creature – we have had many labradors here at HGT, but this pup truly makes my day – everyday! Because we believe in the betterment of the breed, through such health and genetic clearances, obedience training and producing offspring from the correct pairing of truly a magnificent breed, we were gifted with our little LAAL. We have lots of things planned for our LAAL – he will start his conformation/handling classes as well as leap into the agility and obedience training a 12-weeks. At HGT we make sure that our dogs are active even as pups, they all go through the same training, but LAAL will wear that ‘high-hat’ as he is our very first lab show sire. What we already see in our LAAL is the way he watches our every move and has that eye-contact that captivates. He naturally stacks beautifully and carries that head-turning strong bone structure. But it is that eye-opening magnetic temperament/personality and that breath-taking gait and tail set – that carries me to another level! My goal for LAAL is to enjoy his life, explore all that we have, be exhibited at many shows and make all of us proud. With the excitement comes the confidence that he will live up to his name and enjoy all life has to offer! Our little LAAL will have two names. Of course the LAAL, Laaly or Look’n At A Legend, will be used quite frequently when discussing our show sire with the AKC, DDC, OFA, EIC, PRA, CNM but we also needed to find a Japanese name for us to use and feel proud of. All our labradors here at HGT carry the beauty of a registered Japanese name so LAAL could not be any different in this regard. We have decided that because this little pup will chart his own course, travel on some beaten and some unbeaten paths, that the name should somehow reflect this. But no matter where he is or what obstacles are thrown his way, he will know how to perform the ‘straight and narrow’. This pup will create his own course at different shows so with our unconstrained excitement, we decided to give him another name of Yumiya. Yumiya, is a Japanese word meaning our ‘bow & arrow’. We found this word to be a very fitting name for this amazing pup. So within time, he will learn that he is definitely different, he needs to listen for two different sounding words and that he will be our prized possession here at HGT. LAAL is AKC Registered, DDC DNA 122033+122817 EIC, Exercise Induce Collapse DNA Test, Clear (2 copies of the normal allele), D-Locus, Centronuclear Myopathy, CNM; Clear (2 copies of the normal allele), Degenerative Myelopathy, DM; Clear (2 copies of the normal allele), Hereditary Nasal Parakeratosis, HNPK; Clear (2 copies of the normal allele), Progressive Retinal Atrophy, PRA; Clear (2 copies of the normal allele), Coat Color DNA Test, DD C.22G>A -/-, Does Not Carry Dilution. OFA’s Eyes, Hips & Elbows will be done when LAAL is 2 years old! |
He-He, Heiwa (Transferred)
There was much consideration in choosing a name for this must-have, adorable, Koko+Marcus pup. In keeping with the ‘times’, the name, Heiwa, was the name that came to mind, then it was dismissed somehow, but lingered like a song that you keep on humming during the day. The reason so much emphasis was placed on this Japanese name was because our beautiful Blue Mountain Lorikeet was named Heiwa and she brought us so much joy. But it was her companionship and her delightful choice of song (she constantly sang us the wolf whistle) that has truly left a void in our lives. Because of this longing and to continually want her name to be heard throughout our home as it once did several years ago, we decided to renew this precious name for our newest Heiwa. The name Heiwa means peace in Japanese. Peace, comfort, loyalty and freedom is what I want for this tiny adorable miraculous black labrador wonder. Heiwa has a lot of things to do if she is going to be competitive with her mom, aunts, brother, and all the other pack members here at HGT. He-He, as we will affectionately call her, has already started paving those tiny paw prints to my heart. She is that rounding edge, that calming quality, that cut to the chase, that I long for in our breeding program. He-He will be AKC registered, OFA/CAER Eyes done around her 8 week mark and OFA’s Eyes, Hips & Elbows will be done when she turns 2 years old! She, or our little He-He, is our peace. MICHI:(transferred)
HomeGrown Trilogy, we have always had beautiful dark chocolate to chocolate pairings – many many dark chocolate puppies and many families who come to us from far and near for our love of the chocolate LAB! Well, after we had our first litter of black lab puppies, everything seemed to change for us. Even though we were quite certain we were not going to waiver, we just could not resist and held back a male pup by the name of Michi. Michi in Japanese means pathway. A brand new pathway that he will create here at HGT, to develop our line, to make it stronger and to make it darker! It is always good to bring black genetics/lines back into an existing dark chocolate line, so this will be the test eventually for Michi. Watch Michi grown and prosper – as he passes all his genetic testing, health clearances, obedience/handling training and those Pam commands! We will post all of Michi’s results. If he is as good as we already think, he will be our show sire standing at stud here at HGT. A very exciting new path for us here at HGT. EIC Clear by parentage. Michi will be AKC registered, OFA/CAER Eyes done around his 8 week mark and OFA’s Eyes, Hips & Elbows will be done when he turns 2 years old! Michi is timeless!
