A Dog’s Love

Dogs fill our lives with love and our minds with wonder! Puppies from a very early age understand what the human relationship is all about. From 3-4 weeks, they understand that this human interacts with them, and provides nourishment. At a couple of months, the pups are actually very much interested in the human and want to try and understand what the human is expecting of them. At 6 months+, if the human has spent time dedicated to the pup’s training, the puppy will be hitting the commands – spot on – and will have all the neighbors commenting on how impressive this…HGT puppy truly is :@) At this age and older, the puppy understands the ‘love’ and ‘attention’ that the human offers, you can see it with its celebratory dance as you walk into the room or possibly when you are heading in the direction of the puppy’s leash! You can also see in those soulful eyes, when the word ‘no’ is used – the ears droop a little and those beautiful bright eyes show instant gloom or sadness :@( but this feeling never really lasts with our dogs, they go back to the celebratory dance, once the human is back from wherever and near to them without hearing that word again! :@) To me, the dog’s love and its joy that it gives us constantly is… genuine – the most genuine thing you will ever get in life!
I wanted to include a couple of pictures that we took of Meooya. Meooya is a result of our pairing of HomeGrown Trilogy’s Kiss & Tail and Abalee’s Seashores ‘N Poetry. This 10 week old pup is attentive to my commands, she always keeps me on her radar screen and when she wanders, she never goes too far from me – I also love that really nice gait and structure that she sports – I see the potential even at this age. She, too, understands the word ‘no’ which is used quite often as she is very feisty but she also shows me that beautiful celebratory dance, that I love to see in my puppies and also in my HGT dogs!
Meooya will be considered for our breeding program after she turns two and passes many genetic tests and health clearances – Keep your eyes open for HGT’s I Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You, Aberdare.
PS: Instead of purchasing a whole bunch of toys that will not last, be creative and give your pups and dogs things that are good for them as well as will allow them to explore. In a couple of the pictures, you will see a new object that we gave to Meooya. We washed and then cored out the seeds of the apple, and gave it to Meooya. At first it was rolled from one corner of the kitchen to the other, then she realized she can chew this thing and better yet, eat it!
