A SOUNDbite!

This past weekend my daughter and I had so much fun as we ventured out a little and went to another AKC dog show … but again without our boys! – We did however meet with a few labrador breeder friends and one very special friend of mine at the Brooklyn Fairgrounds in Brooklyn, CT!
A beautiful show-worthy litter joined us this past June. HGT’s dark chocolate pups that sport all the blocky + stocky with the nice strong bone and carry that beautiful joyful temperament and gait. These amazing creatures were sired by Sky Farms, Roger Wilco. Having seen him perform spot-on in the show ring and take hold of many successful ribbons and distinctions, we wanted to meet Wilco outside the show ring. As soon as I held his handler’s lead I felt some type of connection to this beautiful – full of expression – labrador. Wilco performed spot-on for us as he did so very well while the judges critiqued him. What a handsome boy! – I included two pictures – showing what a magnificent show sire that is owned, trained and loved by Abby Crosby.
We have been training Wilco’s son, HGT’s Joie de Vivre, OHSO, to do some remarkable things – see the pictures and embedded video –
OHSO’s start might be for the AKC Tricks Title – at 16 weeks this puppy amazes each time we start the command training whether in a quiet room where not a word is spoken, just hand signals he is shown or when the voices starts, the tail wags, the eye contact never strays and the ‘smarts’ are revealed… over and over again — he offers me always much more than I could ever expect – Hugs, Pam

As most of my HGT families know I love poetry – probably as much as I love my dogs – here’s a quote by a poet I love and try to emulate through his written word, Charles Kingley.
“We act as though comfort and luxury were the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us really happy is something to be enthusiastic about!”
