You can teach your puppy a number of tricks and commands at 5 months. Try the “figure 8”. You will amaze your friends and even your trainer (if you have one). Have a very yummy puppy treat in one hand and have the puppy smell and taste a little. As you stand in front of your pup – entice him to follow the treat in your hand – start with back and forth motion in front of you and once he walks back and forth in front of you, give him a small morsel. Then start having the pup follow your hand holding the treat around one leg and then change hands holding the treat and finish the motion around the other leg as to form a figure 8. They will follow instinctively and to get the praise as well as a treat will make the game even more fun – Think ‘pawsitive’ you can do this!
