I want to thank everyone that came to our home for Pick-A-Puppy weekend. I am so very happy with all our golden grand placements and look forward to seeing everyone again for pickup pup weekend in 2 weeks. The Pick-Up Puppy schedule was sent out earlier today under HGT’s customer service.

We could not resist keeping a pup from this irresistible golden grand litter.
Akona is our newest HomeGrown Golden Grand pup. She comes to us from the magnificent breeding of HGT’s Kiss & Tail / Sage Advice and Abalee’s Sea Shores N’ Poetry / Devin. Akona is a Polynesian name meaning to enthuse and I truly could not think of another name more fitting for this dynamic pup. Her AKC registered name is very special to me as well – it signifies my love of poetry and the peace it provides. So because we wanted to keep the notion of poetry, peace and enthusiasm in our line, we decided it would only be appropriate to have Akona’s AKC registration read: HGT’s My Poetry, a Piece of Peace.
As a young pup, she was the first to rise once I would walk into the room and the first to let out this wonderful coo as if to say I know it’s you! Once the ramp was introduced, it served many purposes, but to Akona it was her perch – her look-out to watch my every move while wagging her tail – always! Akona already has demonstrated to me that she has the balanced temperament that I long for in breeding my Goldens coupled with the delightful personality that surprises me at each cornerstone; but it was her ‘hero’s-welcome’ that made her a must-have in our ever growing pack and a great addition to our family.
