WOOF – WOOF – COOOO- Yelp :*)

If you puppy shakes his head – more often that you thing is normal – there probably is a reason.  If you puppy’s eyes are not that beautiful hazel-brown then you need to take a closer look.

To make sure our Kokobo’s senses are at their best – we need to make sure we look at their eyes, ears and mouths daily to make sure all are –  keen, clean and bright!

We care for ourselves on a daily basis – so to keep up with the daily maintenance on our KokoBo’s should just be part of the daily routine.

Here’s how:

Eyes – When your puppy gives you his trademark look of love, check to be sure that his eyes are clean and healthy: They should be bright and clear and the white of the eye should be pure white. You can help keep them that way by gently wiping away discharge in the corners with a cotton ball or soft washcloth moistened with warm water (do this whenever its bath time or whenever you notice discharge). Be sure to check for redness or other signs of irritation, and take care not to rub the cotton ball directly over the eye.

Ears – Your puppy’s ears should be cleaned at least once a month, more often if your pup is prone to ear problems. Look inside to check for dirt, scratches, parasites, or discharge. Then give them a good sniff! There shouldn’t be any unpleasant odor. I like to use the Life’s Abundance, Ear Care Formula.  This herbal formula contains a special botanical blend and gentle cleansers that, actually, smell terrific.  To clean, moisten a cotton ball with the ear care formula and gently wipe out the ears, going no deeper than the first knuckle on your finger. Always try and keep your pup’s ears dry and clean, after a long run or after swimming in their favorite lake! If you wish to purchase Life’s Ear Care, please go to the Eat&Be Well tab in the HGT’s website and read more about it.

Mouth – Well, we need to brush our teeth several times a day – and our pups need the same treatment although once a day is sufficient! To avoid dental problems later in life, I would recommend not to feed your puppy can food and to purchase, Life’s Abundance Dental Wipes.  Even the best pet parents slack off when it comes to the oral hygiene of their dogs, but now there’s a safe easly solution that only takes a few minutes and your pup will enjoy it. Just a few simple swipes in your pup’s mouth and you are good…to go!  These pads are presoaked, contain safe ingredients and are textured to grip the debris that might be lurking.  They also fight plaque and tartar buildup and promotes freshen breath!  If you wish to purchase Life’s Dental Wipes, please go to the Eat&BeWell tab in the HGT’s website and read more about it.

The HGT pups that are still with us already experienced having their ears washed – one step of this daily regiment! Below are pictures of our sparking clean Mean and Blu-Jake.  Enjoy, Pam
